Let's have some fun!

Playing on the new Image Worktable

Start a new EQ7 project and name it Image Fun

  1. Click on Image Worktable in the menu icons

  2. Import an image
    EQ7-click-import-image-icon
  3. Browse to where the image you want to play with is located. Open it and then you might want to crop it before you start.
  4. From the top menu, choose Image > Apply Symmetries. I chose Circular for this exercise.

  5. This is the default setting: Ogee petals

  6. You can change the background colour
    EQ7-click-change-background-colour
  7. Use the dialog box to make the changes:

  8. Here's my new background colour:

  9. You can change the petal shape:
    EQ7-petal-shapes
  10. Here's the Hexagon Spike petal shape:

  11. You can move the petal to a different area of your photo to change how the new image looks:
    EQ7-change-location-of-petal
  12. Or change the shape and the location:
    EQ7-change-shape-of-petal
    To do this you click on the petal in the toolbox and move it by dragging it around the image.
You can save these images each time you make a change and they are saved to the Photo section of your sketchbook. Design quilts with these unique pictures and print them on photo fabric for one of a kind quilts.
