Electric Quilt can give you blocks any size
When I travel around teaching quilters how to get the most out of EQ, I love the reaction to getting a block to be any size or shape, regardless of what size it was drawn. If you draw (or choose from the library) a block and then set it into a quilt layout, the dimensions are set by the size you decided the in the quilt layout. So if you draw a six inch block, and then you put it into a layout with eight inch blocks, EQ will give you templates or cutting instructions for eight inch blocks.
The secret is in clicking beside “Size from quilt” when you select the block for printing templates, foundation piecing or rotary cutting instructions.
How does it all work?
Let’s have some fun reshaping and resizing a simple block.
Step 1: Get a block
From the top menu choose Libraries > Block Library > Classic Pieced > Nine Patch > Shoo Fly.

Click on the block and choose Add to sketchbook.
Open the sketchbook and select the Shoo Fly block for editing.
