Blue and yellow quilts are so fresh

Margaret is making a quilt for her family room based on the ideas in Successful Scrap Quilts by Judy Turner and Margaret Rolfe.

The idea is to cut rectangles of fabric and, using the ancient Japanese tatami mat weaving patterns, create blocks with this very simple shape.

Here are some of the blocks laid out in a dark/light design.

Margaret made twenty-five blocks for the top, which is now completed and she is ready to layer, baste and quilt the quilt.
